Sociology and Social Work Students Participate in Tree Planting Initiative Under the Sponsorship of Dibba Al-Fujairah Municipality

 In line with their steadfast commitment to social responsibility and environmental conservation, students from the Sociology and Social Work department at the University of Science and Technology of Fujairah participated in a tree planting initiative organized by Dibba Al-Fujairah Municipality. The participation took place on Friday, December 8, 2023, under the supervision of Dr. Asmaa Ahmed and Dr. Ramadan Ismail, faculty members in the department.
This initiative comes within the context of the environmental efforts taking place in the country, especially in light of the COP 28 Climate Conference. The event aligns with the wise leadership directives of the United Arab Emirates, emphasizing environmental protection, promoting green spaces, and ensuring their sustainability.
The participation activities included planting trees and plants in specific areas in coordination with Dibba Al-Fujairah Municipality. The students expressed their happiness and pride in contributing to these environmental efforts, reflecting the youth's engagement with society's environmental and social challenges.
It's worth noting that this initiative is one of the practical steps towards enhancing environmental awareness and encouraging community participation in building a healthy and sustainable environment.
The involvement of Sociology and Social Work students at the College of Humanities and Sciences at the University of Science and Technology in Fujairah reflects the spirit of active partnership between the university and government institutions. Such events contribute to building bridges of communication and community collaboration. The faculty in the department expressed their pride and appreciation for the commitment and positive engagement of the students in environmental and sustainability initiatives.
This participation is part of the university's strategy to promote social and environmental awareness among students, encouraging them to contribute to environmental and sustainable development issues actively. Dr. Asmaa Ahmed, a sociology professor, stated, "Such events are an essential part of educating youth about community participation and contributing to building a sustainable and healthy future."
The students expressed their happiness at the opportunities provided by the university to participate in such initiatives, emphasizing the importance of the youth's role in environmental preservation and achieving sustainable development.
