University of Science and Technology in Fujairah hosted the second annual AI Competition for School Students

In a vibrant scientific event, the University of Science and Technology in Fujairah hosted the second annual AI Competition for School Students on Thursday, October 31, 2024. The competition was graced by the esteemed presence of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamad bin Saif Al Sharqi and Dr. Sandya Al-Samahi, Director of the Fujairah Education Zone.
The competition saw participation from 35 schools, submitting over 250 projects created by more than 690 students.
Throughout an entire month, students prepared their research projects with close attention to judging criteria, focusing on competition sectors that included technology, transportation, health, water, education, renewable energy, and space.
During the opening ceremony, USTF President Prof. Dr. Ali Abuelnour delivered a welcoming speech, expressing his hope that the competition’s outcomes would contribute to integrating artificial intelligence principles into everyday life. He emphasized the importance of supporting scientific research in this field and the role of the university as an institution of higher education in fostering the contributions of school students, raising awareness, and creating a competitive environment that encourages skill-building. Following this, Dr. Yumna Shaker, General Coordinator of the competition, reminded participants of the competition's judging criteria.
Contestants then proceeded to their display stations to receive the judges, after which the winners were announced and presented with valuable prizes and certificates of recognition
